Fits Ford E-Series Vans (1992–2025)
Brand: HF USA
IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE INSTALLING
-
Know your ride. These instructions apply to Econoline (E-Series) vans, 1992–2025. Check fitment before you start.
-
Prep the work area. Keep it clean, dry, and safe. Park on level ground.
-
Battery first. Disconnect the negative terminal before installation.
-
Mind the heat. Don’t route wires near exhaust, engine components, or hot zones.
-
Keep it dry. The control module isn’t waterproof. Mount in a dry area — under the dash or behind interior trim.
-
Secure everything. Use zip ties, fasteners, and tape provided to keep wiring tight and protected.
-
Do not shortcut. Always test before finalizing your wiring and trim reinstallation.

INSTALLATION PROCESS
1. MOUNTING THE STEPS
-
Test-fit brackets and running boards to identify L/R, front/rear positions.
-
Install front and rear brackets to frame rails using U-bolts and included washers.
-
Align steps to brackets using T-bolts and socket head screws. Tighten but don’t over-torque.
-
Ensure steps clear the door and body when deploying.
2. MOTOR & WIRING HARNESS
-
Route motor wiring harness along the underbody, avoiding heat/exhaust areas.
-
Connect left/right motor plugs to running board actuators.
-
Run the harness into the cabin (through grommet or firewall).
-
Secure excess wiring with zip ties. Use rubber tape to insulate exposed connectors.
3. ECU & POWER
-
Mount the ECU under the dash or in another dry location.
-
Connect power (red) to a 12V source with inline fuse (included).
-
Connect ground (black) to a solid chassis ground.
-
Plug the OBD module into your OBD port (under dash, driver side).
4. MAGNETIC SENSOR SYSTEM
-
Pull weather seal near B-pillars and clean surface.
-
Stick magnetic sensors along the door frame.
-
Apply inked foam to the sensors and gently close the doors to mark where magnets go.
-
Mount magnets inside door skin aligned to ink marks.
-
Do NOT place magnets over trim or edge lines.
-
Seal with 704B silicone or similar adhesive sealant.
-
-
Once dry, remove the foam and secure all sensor wiring.
5. FINAL CHECKS
-
Confirm all connections are tight and clean.
-
Test door open/close – steps should extend and retract automatically.
-
Tidy up all wiring. Secure with zip ties and tape.
-
Reinstall any trim or panels removed during install.
-
Done right? Time to flex.
